The Country Kookaburra's were no match for the South East Busharangers in the first of their three games at the State Championships. The Busharangers were too strong defeating the Kookaburra's in their first match by 63 points. Matt Hungerford was named in the best after coming off the bench early in the game, providing some much needed run from defence and putting his head over the football. Matt Sondergeld was solid in the first half starting as rover in a three way rotatation throughout each quarter with a spell on the bench and then moving to half forward. Will Hillman played ia key defensive role at centre half back, whilst Matt Sturgeon was 1st ruck getting first hands to the football and changing with a rest on the bench each quarter.
The Kookaburra's now play Northern Raiders on Wednesday at Zillmere followed by their final match on Saturday to determine their final placing in the Championships. For more information on the match results click on the link below:
