Eastern Swans player Bo Saunders has been announced as the 2015 Under 16 Mackay representative team Captain and will lead the region at the upcoming North Queensland Championships.
The lead by example Saunders was named as the Captain at training on Monday afternoon.
Regional Manager Jeff Neumann said the decision was quite easy for the coaching staff and Saunders is a natural leader who leads by example.
"Bo is an exceptional young man and a natural leader," Regional Manager Neumann said.
"It was an easy decision, Bo throughout the entire program has always led by example and is a player who has the respect of everyone.
"I believe Bo will captain at senior level one day," Neumann added.
Saunders has recorded 77 games in his junior playing career and booted 28 goals, running off a half-back flank and through the midfield at different stages for the Eastern Swans.
Bo will line up in the mid-field for Mackay at the North Queensland Championships and will commence his representative leadership role at 4:00pm on Friday against Cape York.
