AFL Victoria's Youth Girls Academy enjoyed a visit from Academy Ambassadors, Angus Monfries and Phoebe McWilliams, and Essendon Assistant Coach, Gary O'Donnell, whilst the umpiring group were visited by their Ambassador, AFL Goal Umpire Chelsea Roffey, and sprint coach, Barry Busanko.
The players' session, which was conducted by Monfries and O'Donnell, focussed on reading the play and decision making. Roffey talked about the importance of goal setting and the challenges facing umpires as they climb the umpiring ladder.
The off field development session focussed on public speaking, with a number of Academy members having to deliver a short presentation to the group.
