NPBA Celebrates New Life Members

NPBA celebrated the admission of four new Life Members to the Association at a function held at Woodleigh Sports Clubrooms on Sunday December 7th.

Jeff Cleaver, Andy Cowie and Pam Moss were all recognised for their huge contribution to the sport of basketball in New Plymouth over many, many years.

Ian Mischefski was also awarded Life Membership for his contribution but couldn't make the function because he was in Wellington coaching the Special Olympics basketball team who will travel to Los Angeles in 2015.

At the same function, a small group of members gathered to celebrate its age group players and coaches who were selected to represent Taranaki at BBNZ National Age Group tournaments during 2014.

NPBA also took the opportunity to recognise and celebrate players who had gone on to represent New Zealand in a National team over the past ten years. The pinnacle of anyone's sporting career is to represent their country in their chosen sport and NPBA wanted to recognise and celebrate their achievements in some small way.

National and Taranaki Representative players were awarded with special pins to recognise their achievement.

NPBA congratulates everyone involved.
