BBNZ Secondary School Nationals Day 1

Both Boys and Girls High School recorded a win on day one of the BBNZ National Secondary School Tournament being held in Palmerston North this week. Girls High played Christchurch Girls and edged them out in a two point ball game winning 42-40.
 
Boys High made hard work of their game against St John's, Hamilton after going out to an early 10 point led in the first quarter. St Johns came back and led the game by 4 at the start of the fourth period. Foul trouble cost St Johns and the boys were sent to the free throw line three times in the last minute where they managed to extend the lead and take it out 65-60 on the buzzer.
 
The Girls face Buller and Hutt Valley on Day 2 (Tuesday) and the Boys face Hutt Valley and Christchurch Boys.
