Down at the Cattery the improving Muswellbrook Cats will be awaiting the Inverell Saints. The Cats have been slowly improving all year when they play at home. The down side for them is they have not lost a game at home by less than 100 points this year. But this time they are playing a Saints club that has had a tough couple of weeks. Firstly their coach was charged with several offences and then resigned. In the end the coach received a 3 match suspension and they also had Co Captain Chris Whitton charged (case dismissed) and the appointment of 3 Co Coaches for the rest of the year. Dick Gleeson is back and he will have the support of new recruit Peter Heath and Ex Collingwood player Kevin Pay. If the Cats are going to win a game this year then this is the best chance that they have had all year. Unfortunately history shows that clubs that change clubs midyear more often than not win the next week. The Saints form this year has been so so and they need to win this to make a serious charge at the finals. As I said last week I think the Saints and the Kangaroos have lost the hunger that is required to win a premiership. The Swans and the Bulldogs are the 2 clubs that are showing that hunger at the moment. One of the things that the Cats are lacking is the belief that they can compete in a game at the moment let alone win a game. Once they remember how to win a game they will be on their way back to being a force in the Country Energy Tamworth AFL.
I have got to tip the Saints to win because of the form of both clubs this year but a margin is really anyone's guess, ok Saints by 30 points. But as I have not tipped a winner yet this round don't be surprised if I am wrong.
