To the entire LYVNA community - Committee, Players and Parents, We are overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion on receiving the enormous donation the Netball club has raised and given to our family to help with Lucy's recovery. Thank you for providing the opportunity for Lucy's friends to work together to help lighten her load and thank you for enabling the fund raising to happen. We realise many generous people donated items and gift hampers and know that organising everything took much time and care so thank you to those who were responsible! The support of people carries us through this challenging journey and we are eternally grateful for the years we have spent belonging to the club and this beautiful gift from your community. Background.
Up until last year, Lucy was a SPJ player and LYVNA representative player and has played with us since she was 9. Lucy played in our the 17U representative squad last year.
Early this year Lucy was diagnosed with leukaemia and is currently going through treatment.
To support Lucy and her family, we had a special fundraising BBQ, raffle and meat raffle at the courts. This, along with fundraising at the LYVNA presentation night we were able to raise $3,000.
This money will hopefully help Lucy and her family during her recovery.
