LYVNA Dominate in Mildura

LYVNA had a dominant performance at this year's Mildura tournament taking home 4 Premierships.

One 17U team, three 15U and three 13U Rep teams travelled to Mildura last weekend for the 2 day Mildura tournament.  We had very a successful and fun weekend, with all of our teams performing extremely well.

This years tournament had more teams and more games than years before.  Some of our teams had to endure 11 games on a very sunny and warm Saturday.  All our girls showed exceptional fitness to perform strong all the way to the finals on the Sunday.  The girls enjoyed the opportunity to play teams from SA, NSW, country VIC and Melbourne.

The 17U team was a mix of team 1 and team 2 with a couple of ring-ins.  They had a good weeked with some good wins but just missed out on the finals.  Thanks to Steph and Emily for stepping in and playing.

For the 15U and 13U grades, all teams play each other over the two days and then divide into a 3 tiered finals system, with the top 4 playing off in Div 1 finals series, 5th-8th into Div 2 finals and 9th-12th into Div 3 finals.

Clare's 13U-1 and Mick's 15U-1 teams performed strongly for both days, both only losing one game during rounds.  They both finished strongly to take out the Div 1 grand final.

Our teams 2's performed very well to end up in the Div 2 finals and ahead of a number of other association team 1's.  They ended the day well to win the Div 2 grand final.

15U-3 struggled on the Saturday but had a very good Sunday to make it into  the Div 3 finals.  Unfortunately they got knocked out in the first semi.

13U-3 did extremely well to end up in the Div 2 finals.  Unfortunately they came up against the 13U-2's and even though they had beaten them during the rounds, they couldn't continue that form and lost the semi against team 2.

Well done to all the young girls who represented our great Association.  Your behaviour, attitude and dedication over the 3 days was outstanding.

Thankyou to the umpires and committee that helped out all weekend.

A special thankyou to Jenny Johnston for your help with the food preparation and cleanup at the accomodation.

Thankyou also to Jacky and Piet Kooy for taking the team photos and all the other parents that helped out during the weekend.
