Sharon Kwarula and Cecilia Kumalalamene are in good form heading into the National Junior College Track and Field Championships in Lubbock,Texas from May 15 to 17. Competing in the Iowa Regional Championships last weekend at Council Bluffs , Kwarula recorded personal best times of 12.37 seconds for 100m and 14.56 secs in the 100m hurdles . In a day when she ran six races Kwarula also clocked 61.74secs in the 400m hurdles. Kumalalamene ran a seasons best of 2:18.36 in her favourite 800m event. The PNG pair also helped their Iowa Central team to win the 4*400m relay in 3min 48 seconds. The Iowa women continued their dominance of the Regional Meet, taking out the team title for the eight consecutive year, by a huge margin. In the mens events Wala Gime helped his team to a narrow victory over Iowa western by winning the 110m hurdles in 15.12 seconds and the 400m hurdles in 54.22secs.
