New Zealand 20’s mixed vs Singapore 20’s mixed
The game started well with Ashley Dunlop Hogan piercing the defence from tap off running 30 metres to touch down with 2 Singapore guys not being able to match her deceptive pace.

The NZ 18 girls continued with their great start from yesterday with another convincing performance this morning in their 19 – 2 win over South Africa.

New Zealand 20’s Mixed vs Singapore 20’s Mixed
The first game of the day was held between New Zealand and Singapore 20 Mixed. Both teams warming into action and getting things into their groove for the day and starting to get things done ‘right’ and smooth.

New Zealand 20’s Girls vs South African 18’s Girls
The game started off well but after a while it was clear to see that NZ’s little mistakes were stopping them from finishing set moves and were struggling to get their game patterns finished and utilised to be efficient and effective, South Africa were showing great defence but were yet to score.

Australia 18’s Girls Vs. Singapore 20’s Girls
Australia cracked into the game with fast hard attack and running, making a lot of metres, and this allowed them to score first in the first few minutes creating a very confident Australian team. When they were not in possession of the ball they showed quick defence, rushing up and stopping Singapore from getting moves into action.

Australia 18’s Boys Vs. South Africa 20’s Boys
Both teams started the match off fierce, with Australia scoring in the opening minutes. The Australian’s Right-hand winger, showing spectators his speed, and how to score down the sideline. Australia’s vigilant start to the game had South Africa on their heels trying to get back to try and defend this well practiced Aussie team.

Day One at the World Youth Challenge
What an awesome first day, weather wise and for Touch! The opening ceremony was attended by all countries that you could see were itching to get out on the field. There were nerves, excitement and anticipation and for the Singapore teams who arrived here late last night, I bet some jet lag.
