50-game milestone for Territory ladSTURT's Josh Cubillo has marked his 50th senior South Australian National Football League (SANFL) appearance with a typically solid display in the Double Blues' eight-point win over Port Adelaide last round.
Cubillo, originally from the Northern Territory, was his usual workmanlike self in Sturt's heavy defeat upon the Magpies, 19.15 (129) to 5.7 (37).
The Double Blues are third on the SANFL ladder behind Central District and league leaders Glenelg.
The 20-year-old Cubillo (pictured) started his SANFL sojourn with North Adelaide in 2006.
He was a member of the Roosters' reserves winning grand final side of that season and was that game's best player, winning the Bob Lee Medal for best-on-ground.
Cubillo was a late inclusion in the North Adelaide senior side for the qualifying final against Centrals that same year and he went on to play every game in the Roosters' seniors in 2007.
Now at Sturt, Cubillo is finding his feet and has become a first-choice player at the Double Blues.
Incidentally, Sturt plays Cubillo's old side North Adelaide in enemy territory in Round 18 of the SANFL on Saturday.
