SCBL 2017
Sunshine Coast Inter-club Basketball is finally coming to a stadium near you. After years of planning, we can announce Inter-club will start in February 2017. This exciting new competition for all members of SCBA, our affiliated clubs Noosa, Maroochydore & Caloundra, will start providing a new competitive basketball League weekly on the Sunshine Coast. Known as the Sunshine Coast Basketball League (SCBL), it will bring in a new tier of competition between the existing local Club fixtures and Basketball QLD's BQJBC Rep competition, providing a long needed transition.
SCBA board met and agreed that players will be given the option:
1: To Play just Local Club Fixtures
2: To play just SCBL Interclub - Representing their Club.
3: or to Play Both.
The inaugural season kicks off on 3 February 2017 and will start with U16 & U18 Boys and Girls. These two age groups were identified as being the biggest priority. Depending on the success of these we will look at introducing other age groups in next season. This is a very exciting announcement for SCBA and will bring us in line with most other sports on the Sunshine Coast that already play against each other in a weekly competition. Development is driven by quality competition and we recognize the way to achieve this is to play Club against Club.
Fees are $250 for 17 weeks which includes Finals from Febuary till June
