4 Clippers Juniors make State Development Squad

Just two weeks after taking silver at the State Championships and securing a place at the 2012 Australian U14 Club Championships in Perth, four of our Under 14 Clippers boys have been named in the Future Development Program squad. The Future Development Program aims to identify and develop young basketballers who have the potential to represent Queensland or Australia in the future. Team Captain Tom Fullarton is joined by Bayden Goff, Bede Hooper and Jordan Rost who all received invites to the program this week. Given that only 15 boys are selected, to have 4 boys in the squad is a great result for Maroochydore Basketball. It is a particularly sweet result for Jordan Rost who came to the selectors' attention with some outstanding performances at the State Championships. Despite coming off the bench, the promising left-hander was the Clippers' second leading scorer for the tournament averaging 12.3 points per game. During May, the boys will receive specialist skills coaching delivered by the Basketball Queensland's High Performance coaches, leading into the 3 day All-State Camp in June. Congratulations boys!
