Club Coaches:

With training back in full swing this year. We will be holding quarterly club coaches meetings. 

This is an environment where club coaches can come and network, learn and help each other navigate trainings and games.

The objective of these meetings is to ensure that all Club coaches are on the same page and we are teaching a common brand of basketball across the different age groups. Each age group is a building block for the one after, so as coaches we need to ensure that the right skills and drills are being taught. When the time comes for the players to progress to the next age group they will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be able to do so. This needs to be a seamless transition.

A coaching manual has been created and you each will receive a copy. This manual will contain the appropriate curriculum for the age group that you are currently coaching and provide guidance in what skills are required to be taught and met for that age group. It will also contain information to assist you in building your season plan, and tips on how to build a plan for each training session. We will also discuss exciting new development opportunities for coaches and players.

These meeting will give you a platform to air your issues or concerns (if you have any). Please also come ready with potential solutions to said issues or concerns so we can work through these as a group.

It is my goal as Development Director to build a strong program where all coaches regardless of your current level of accreditation are supported, encouraged, have learning opportunities and can progress your coaching careers if desired. This goal ties into Moreton Bay Basketball’s commitment to building a strong coaching culture where we all support and help each other.
