Finals Information

The following information applies to EDJBA finals:

TIES: In the event of a drawn game, extra period(s) of 3 minutes will be played with a one-minute break between each period, until a result is known.  In each extra period, each team is entitled to 1 time-out.  The clock stops for all whistles and time-outs.  See BY LAW 22 for more details.

PLAYERS NOT LISTED IN STADIUM SCORING: If a team is very confident that a player has qualified (played 5 games or more for the one team or has special permission from the Registrar) and is not listed in Stadium Scoring, then the team may elect to play the player.  This is at their own risk if the player is found to be ineligible.  The EDJBA will check all players added to finals on Sunday morning.

MERCY RULE: There is NO Mercy Rule during finals.

UNIFORM STANDARDS: The penalty for the incorrect uniform is 2 points per uniform to a maximum penalty of 10 points.  When a colour clash occurs and both teams are from the one Club, the Club shall nominate the team to wear alternatives. When the nominated team does not provide an alternative colour combination, it shall play in make shift tops with a penalty of two points per player, maximum penalty of 10 points.   See BY LAW 24.f for more details.

DISPUTES: All disputes, protests and complaints must be lodged in writing, by a nominated Club official, to the EDJBA within five days of the matter under dispute.  See BY LAW 25.C for more details.

Timing Regulations -  Semi & Preliminary Finals

THE CLOCK WILL STOP ON ALL TIME-OUTS THROUGHOUT THE GAME AND EVERY WHISTLE DURING THE LAST THREE MINUTES OF THE FINAL HALF.

  • Time-outs are permitted at any time during the game; as the clock stops for all time-outs.
  • The three point rule does not apply for Under 12 age groups and below.
  • In the event of a drawn game, an extra period(s) of three minutes will be played, with one-minute break between each period, until a result is known.
  • In each extra period, each team is entitled to one time-out and the clock stops for every whistle and time-outs.
  • The Mercy Rule is not applied in Finals.

 PLEASE HAVE BOTH SCORERS CHECK THE COMPUTER TO AVOID DISCREPANCIES

THE CLOCK WILL STOP ON:

  • ALL TIME-OUTS THROUGHOUT THE GAME
  • EVERY WHISTLE DURING THE LAST ONE MINUTE OF THE FIRST HALF
  • EVERY WHISTLE IN THE LAST THREE MINUTES OF THE FINAL HALF.

Time-outs are permitted at any time during the game, as the clock stops for all time-outs.

The three point rule does not apply for Under 12 age groups and below.

IN THE EVENT OF A DRAWN GAME:

  • extra period(s) of three minutes will be played
  • there is a one minute break between each period until a result is known
