7 December: Congratulations to SA Country reps
The Lions have once again smashed a record. This year we have a phenomenal 20 athletes and coaches from our club (having played for the Lions in the past 12 months) competing for SA Country in the National Country Championships/Pacific Coast Slam in January 2012.
In previous years the Lions might have had 1 or 2 State reps every couple of years, in 2010 we had 13 reps and this year its 20!!! It’s no secret that coaches like James Murphy, Glen Hosking, Trudy Ireland and Stephen Patterson have been integral to our players getting success at the next level in SA Country Basketball over the past few years.
We also want to acknowledge the great work of the DNSP coaches involved with these athletes including Matt Whittaker, Trudy Ireland, Glen Hosking and Shona McKeen.
Our levels of country and metro participation is expected to continue to grow over the coming years.
Congratulations and good luck go to:
