After a successful trial over 2008, it has been resolved that all novice U13, U15 and U17 events on the state calendar will have independent, paid referees in attendance.
To facilitate this a standing referees panel will be convened, from which the people will be drawn on a rotation/availability basis.
Appointment to the panel will be either on a "Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)" basis, for people judged to have sufficient experience or on completion of an approved referees course. It is required that people presenting for refereeing for the day will do so exclusively for that purpose, i.e. not engage in fencing, coaching or other duties. The only exemption will be if the fencer is fencing in an event in the afternoon, and they are engaged for the morning session
The daily rate is $60, ($40 morning session-- only if fencing in the afternoon).
Zoltan Vilagosh will judge the eligibility for the "Recognition of Prior Learning" clause, in consultation with state and national referees if required. Observation of the candidate for RPL refereeing exemption will be required.
Please direct your nominations to Zoltan Vilagosh on zoltanv@clari.net.au, indicating level of experience, contact details and potential availability
