The AFL Mackay season might have come to an end, but Term 4 will be a massive period for school footy, with the annual Mackay Secondary Schools Competition (MSSC) set to kick off.
However, adding to the MSSC, the inaugural Whitsunday Secondary Schools Competition (WSSC) will also be in full swing.
AFL Queensland Regional Manager in Mackay Jeff Neumann said, both competitions play a pivotal role in identifying rookie search participants for the new year club seasons.
"Both the MSSC and WSSC, will be massive competitions with a forecast of over 30 teams participating," Regional Manager Jeff Neumann said.
"The Mackay competition has been running for numerous years and we always get fantastic participation and we have had high demand in the Whitsunday region and looking forward to the inaugural competition kicking off in paradise," Neumann added.
Registration has open and students, teachers that are wanting to get their school involved can contact AFL Queensland Development Coordinator Matt Bateman for the information pack, by email Matthew.Bateman@afl.com.au
