The Eastern Swans have stretched their winning streak to 14-straight with their big 24.17 (161) to 3.2 (20) victory over cross-town rivals North Mackay.
Midfielder Dean Backwell dominated through the guts and was judged as best on ground by the Swans coaching staff. Backwell played an ultimate team game setting up numerous team-mates with his silky skills and hard running.
The Swans had 9 individual goal-kickers which including bags of four by Chris Burdon, Rocklyn Miller and Grant Evans.
Terry Bailey and Luke Ball were also impressive for the Eastern Swans and were a key factor in keeping the North Mackay Saints scoreless after the main-break.
For North Mackay, they slip to fourth on the Allied Pickford's ladder with the Mackay Magpies leap-frogging the Saints into third position. The Saints play the Sea Eagles in Airlie Beach next week in a match that will define their season.
In the weekend's other fixture the Moranbah Bulldogs have kept their finals flame flickering with a big win over Bakers Creek at Stevenson Sports Park.
The Bulldogs were impressive with their 26.8 (164) to 1.1 (7). No data entered by either side in SportinPulse.
