Prime Minister Charlot Salwai reaffirmed the Vanuatu Government's commitment to hosting a successful 2017 Pacific Mini Games when he formally opened the General Assembly of the Pacific Games Council in Port Vila on 10 May.
Speaking to the assembled media alongside President Vidhya Lakhan immediately after his opening address, Prime Minister Salwai said the people of Vanuatu looked forward to welcoming the athletes of the Pacific for the 2017 Pacific Mini Games. He said his Government would do all it could to make the Games a great success.
President Vidhya Lakhan said the Prime Minister's personal commitment to a successful Pacific Mini Games was well received by the General Assembly delegates and he said the Pacific Games Council was grateful for Prime Minister Salwai's support.
