SUMMER SEASON REGISTRATION DAY

NOTICE FOR ALL PLAYERS -

It's that time of the year again when the club needs to start getting player numbers ready for the Summer Season to enter teams!

A registration table will be set up at Knox Stadium between 10am and 1pm on Saturday Sept 15th where the lovely Michelle will be waiting to collect cash or cheque payments.

Alternately we ask you to pay via eft to ensure your spot in a team.more

2017 JUNIOR CLUB PERSONS

We had dual Junior Club Person recipients for 2017, Charli McMahon and Rebekah Kroenert.
Charli has been playing basketball for Phoenix since Summer 2009 and currently plays in our 16/1 A grade team.
Rebekah currently plays in the 14/1 AR girls team and plays representative basketball for the Ringwood Hawks. She is also very active behind the scenes.

2017 CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to our 2017 Club Person of the year Michelle Kroenert. Michelle flies under the radar in terms of her contribution to the running of our club. She has been coaching for a few years now with the highlight of her career being her U/10 boys making the grand final last Winter. Michelle currently coordinates our highly successful biddy ball basketball program at BNPS.more

ONE MILLION STARS AT THE COMM GAMES

The Commonwealth Games have started and our hand made stars represent our club colours amongst the One Million Stars to End Violence.

SAVE KNOX STADIUM IN BORONIA

Knox Basketball Stadium in Boronia has been the much loved stadium since 1975. It was given to the council at that time by the land owners and was stipulated that it is to be used as a sports precinct.

Let Knox council, KBI, and your local member know that we need to keep Knox Stadium at Boronia!more

The AGM is over for another year and we are really lucky to have the majority of the existing Committee nominating to continue to serve our club, again being lead by our super President Marian Snary. It takes many volunteer hours to run a basketball club so please ensure you continue to support those who give up their precious time. Thanks to those members who came out to show support.more

Congratulations to Frank Pauer who was awarded Life Membership at the AGM for his commitment to KSC Phoenix. Frank has warn lots of hats over many years, including Team Manager, Coach, long serving Committee Member, chief sausage sizzler, financial and legal adviser to name a few. 8 EFL MEDALS FOR FORMER PHOENIX STAR

Our former junior player Ben White is certainly 'trending' this week after being awarded his 8th consecutive EFL Best and Fairest award. So for each season Ben has played junior football he has won the medal which is voted on by those officiating the games. That in itself speaks volumes of this amazing achievement of a humble young gun! Congratulations Ben from all at KSC Phoenix.more

ST JO's PARKING UPDATE

Over the past 12 months, St Josephs College has undergone a major revamp to its facilities, in particular the addition of the swimming pool at the back of the grounds near the basketball stadium and oval.
As a result of this completed works, there have been alterations to the parking available.

2016 CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR

Club Person for 2016 was awarded to Frank Pauer -

Frank has been involved with KSC Phoenix for approx 10 years during which time all three of his children have played and he has taken on the team manager role for every one of them, often all in the one season.more

2016 JUNIOR CLUB PERSONS OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to our Junior Club Persons of 2016 -
Brianna Johnson and Kyal Robinson.
Brianna has played many seasons for our club and has now taken on the responsibilty of coaching.
Kyal also has played since a young age, he has assistant coached for several seasons and now has his own u10 boys team to coach.

What an awesome achievement by our very own Kyal Robinson.
Winner of Rookie of the year for the VBRA.

KSC WIN THE KBI STAR WEAVING COMPETITION

Our target was 538 but team Phoenix smashed that with a total of 3007!!
WONDERFUL EFFORT BY OUR WONDERFUL MEMBERS..THANK YOU for this amazing achievement..
The One Million Stars project is designed to help raise awareness to the fact that we can all do something to help bring an end to domestic violence, violence on our streets, racism and harassment that is happening RIGHT NOW in our communities.more

CLUB REMINDERS

Please remember that for the safety of our players, it is KSC Phoenix policy for parents to come inside the training venue to collect their children. Under no circumstances are the children to go outside unaccompanied.
Lost and Found - we have a collection of goods picked up in stadiums. It is a great idea to put your child's name on their belongings so lost items can be returned!more

SUMMER SEASON RULE CHANGES

Every 4 years following the World Championships, FIBA introduce new rules for competitions worldwide. These rules are generally adopted by all countries at the next season following the introduction of the rules on October 1st. This results in a number of important changes to how games are officiated at Knox.more
