Edithvale CFA Recruiting

Do you want to learn new skills, use modern equipment in a new state of the art fire station, make new friends in a diverse and inclusive operating environment and most of all have a desire to help out and protect your community?

If so, the Edithvale Fire Brigade (CFA) is accepting expressions of interest from members of the local community to join the Brigade and become operational & nonoperational members.  The Brigade currently has over 100 members and whilst it is proud of its 30% female gender ratio, it is committed to increasing its cultural and gender diversity through this recruiting campaign.

If you are able to respond to emergency calls during normal daytime work hours and evenings, or are able to support the Brigade in various community, fundraising, event management and non-operational tasks – then we want to hear from you!

Members of the Edithvale Fire Brigade undertake the following tasks: • Firefighting • Brigade administration • Training co-ordination • Equipment maintenance • Media & public relations • Planning (operational & non-operational) • Fundraising • Community engagement & education • Community safety programs • Community events & support

To become an operational member, you will be required to undertake a basic firefighting course designed to give you the minimum firefighting skills to ensure you are safe at an incident. This course takes approximately 2 months to complete before you qualify to attend emergency incidents.   Edithvale Fire Brigade is planning on running a minimum skills course commencing September this year.

Please note, in addition to the basic application process, all prospective members will be required to undertake a criminal record check.

So if you are interested in becoming a member and want to know more, please lodge an online expression of interest form via the CFA’s website, by following this link below and we’ll be in touch. http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/volunteer-careers/volunteer-today/

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
