New Board....New Visions
The FNQ FC Heat are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a 5 year NPL licence, to run from 2018-2022, and will be fielding both senior and junior teams.
To help guide the club through its next chapter, a new board with significant business experience has been appointed. Boasting an array of well-known identities from the Cairns region, the board includes Peppi Iovannella as Chairman, Darren Halpin, Max O’Halloran and Shaun Donaldson.
“The new board would like to thank former directors, including former chair Rob Giason, for their contribution, particularly in securing this new 5 year NPL licence for the club,” said incoming Chairman, Peppi Iovannella.
The new board have identified their focus for the FNQ FC Heat as developing a strong, stable and successful club and raising the level of football in the Cairns region.
“Our biggest focus is on having grassroot pathways for our youth, providing our local young footballers every chance to play at the highest level,” said Iovannella.
A complete re-branding with new name would be undertaken to reflect a fresh start. Iovannella also spoke of other exciting developments on the horizon, including a program to support and develop coaches across the entire region. There is also an agreement currently being negotiated for a new permanent base for the club. The chairman said that applications for Technical Director and Head Coach were currently being taken, with announcements on successful candidates expected in the coming fortnight.
