The BDAFL has announced the 2016 competition structure this morning.
The 2016 season will see 6 teams battle it out in the BDAFL, 10 teams in the 1st Division, 11 teams in 2nd Division and 10 women’s teams.
The Cats are still hoping to field a women’s team in 2016 and are still seeking players and this would bring the women’s competition up to 11 teams.
The 2016 2nd division will be a little different to that IN 2015. Cardiff and Lake Macquarie have both left the 2nd division for the upcoming season while new team on the block Gosford will field a 2nd division squad.
Cat’s preseason will start shortly after the 2016 head coach appointments and the team will have the 2nd April to train towards.
Cats President Ken “Ram Jam” Garland said that he was excited to see new comers Gosford compete in the 2nd division and it will be good to come up against some old rivals. He also stated how important it was to the club to get a women’s team on the paddock next season and urged anyone interested to contact the club ASAP, we have had some interest and hopefully that continues to grow as we get closer to the season.
The BDAFL hopes that a draft draw can be issued mid-January but some important dates have been issued
