The Muswellbrook Cats take on the big bad Panthers who will come out on top is anyone’s guess. The Cats remain undefeated and will be looking to overcome one of the stronger teams in the competition this week in the Panthers.
The Panthers have only lost 2 games and the experts are putting one of their losses down due to a lack of players. The long road trip up to Muswellbrook will also be against them as the Cats will be wanting to keep Weerman a fortress.
All eyes this week will be on the naming of the squad as head coach Brian Scott has some big decisions to make as he looks to field his strongest team this weekend. If he gets the combinations right and the team train well they will be unstoppable if not and the Panthers might just get a sniff.
What the Coach Says: “It will be an interesting game this week, we are coming off some big wins especially against a very keen Killarney Vale. Terrigal are an interesting side as they have been in the top three for a few years now. They had a few players out last weekend when they went down to Newcastle so we can't get complacent. Will be looking to field our best side. We get the likes of Cameron Benkovic, Jackson Cook, Matty Merritt and Bredan Dudfield back into the squad. We will be looking at going 8 - 0 which is very exciting for the Players and the Club."
Skipper’s words of wisdom: “I'm looking forward to testing ourselves against a stronger Terrigal side. It will be a good barometer of where we are at."
Presidents Player in Focus: Jake Parker. "Jake is in his second year now and it taking the game on and dominating clearances around the ground. Parky was selected in the BDAFL development squad after his first season and it was a great learning experience, Jake is a major part of our success so far this year and his game is growing each week."
