With only 3 games left the in the regular season its nice to see how some of the Cats are faring so far.
In goal kicking Adam Higham has kicked 21 for the season so far and is sitting 7th overall in the BDAFL 2nd Div, Jackson Bower and Ken Garland sit equal 10th with 17 to their names and (Courageous) Jono Williams is close behind with 15 Goals. Some great efforts by these consistent forwards.
Looking at some of the most dedicated players to the Cats this year David Howard, Jackson Bower and Ken Garland have played all of the Cats 12 games. While a number of players have only missed one game. This shows just how keen the boys are for footy week in and week out and it also helps as it gives the team a consistent structure.
Im not sure exactly on the exact numbers for training but there is definitely a core group of boys who never miss training, this core group continues to grow each week and it is the consistent effort of these boys that have got the Cats in the great position they are today. Players of Note are Matty, Bencko, Marta, Griffo, Jono, Ken, Sawko, Jedd, Lenny, Howie, Cooky Ranga and Tate even though he’s always late haha.
Cats President Ken ‘The Mastermind’ Garland was so impressed with the professionalism and attitude of the boys this year. ‘To have so many boys showing up to training and games is a great sign of how much they enjoy the game and how inviting and social the club is’
The other great efforts so far this season have been with the Committee members who get the ground and paperwork done so the boys can enjoy the game. Without their continued efforts the club would cease to run pretty quick.
Looking at the juniors we also have some great efforts in the U17’s there are 8 players who haven’t missed a game and a further 6 that have only missed 1 game. Beau Harris is the leading goal kicker for the team on 16 for the season 5th Overall and Jake Parker sits 7th overall on 13 Goals, James Howard rounds out the top 10 currently on 10 goals.
The U15s are both going awesome with 27 players consistently showing up for games (only missed 2 games or less). This is a great effort and shows just how much the boys love footy. This will come in handy later on as game experience is key. Samual Heaten is the leading goal kicker for the Blues with 17 goals so far while Flynn Warwick is the leader for the Whites on 12.
The Kittens have all shown great effort this year and have all shown up to the majority of their games. The team has had great successes this year in building skills and talent developing themselves to become greater future stars. Cameron Sanders is currently the leading goal kicker for the Kittens sitting on 5 goals helped out by a great hat trick against port Stephens in Rd 5.
Cats Jr President Donna “Dragonfly” Mullane was so happy with all the sides. To have so many players not miss any games and for there to be players so high on the overall goal kicking leader board is a great success for the club and a tribute to how well the boys are training and playing.
