The Muswellbrook Cats AFC Annual General Meeting was held at the Muswellbrook RSL on the 19th October 2014 at 4pm. A good turn out to the 2014 AGM with nearly 20 members present.
Ken gave his presidents report and thanked everyone for their assistance in 2014 stating that their help had led to a successful season for the entire club. Ken stated that he had achieved his goal of getting a senior side into the BDAFL and now looked forward to his two new long term goals, ensuring the club is finically sustainable and entering a second senior side into the BDAFL.
The junior report was given by Donna and what a season the juniors had! U13 and U15 sides both went undefeated through the regular season and both made the Grand Final with the 15’s taking the Flag. Eight juniors were selected in representative positions, with Noah McGrath joining the Swans Academy!
Thje Juniors did well with the awards as well with Tristan Warner winning U15’s Best & Fairest, Ky McGrath U13’s Best & Fairest runner up and Adam Warner taking out junior Coach of the Year. The club also hosted finals and had 130 attended the Junior presentative including Simon McAuley from AFL NSW/ACT.
Annette gave the treasurers report which showed us up for the year but with a lot of new expenses due to the seniors entering the BDAFL.
An amendment to the constitution involving club life membership consideration was put forth and passed. For more information please read the club constitution.
With all matters dealt with all positions where made vacant and Max called for new member elections. I am pleased to announce that Ken Garland is the 2105 President, Donna Mullane Vice President, Grant O’Leary Secretary and Annette Garland keeps Treasurer. All other normal committee members where appointed.
The AGM was closed and the 2015 season is set to be a good one
Talking to Ken Garland at the close of the meeting he said teary eyed that it was an honour to be the 2015 president and that he wanted to thank his wife, kids and the almighty god Thor for allowing him to do what he does.
