NPL2 ROUND 14 - ZEBRAS V BALLARAT RED DEVILS

NPL2 ROUND 14 - ZEBRAS V BALLARAT RED DEVILS

Round 14 of NPL2 signals the half way point of the season and our senior team has a home game against Ballarat Red Devils this afternoon to mark the occassion.

After reaching top spot in the league after our 4-0 at Whittlesea Ranges a month ago, we have been unable to register a win since and now find ourselves sitting 4 points off the top of the ladder.

It hasn't been through lack of trying as our team has been unfortunate to not come away with anything from our last 2 games in particular.

In contrast, today's opponent are in solid form, currently on a 7 game unbeaten run which finds them now sitting one spot and one point ahead of us on the league table.

Ballarat are a always a difficult opponent and are well coached by former Melbourne Victory player James Robinson

We've had some fascinating games against the Red Devils in recent times, including the final round fixture in Ballarat last season which allowed us to clinch a playoff spot with a hard earned draw. This season, we went head to head in round 1 and we were able to come away with a 3-1 win to start our season on the back of a Baggio Yousif hat trick.

We will need more of that sort of form from Baggio and his team mates in our attacking line. We have been unable to find the back of the net in our last 2 games despite creating the opportunities.

Despite the recent barren run, we are still one of the highest scoring teams in the league. IT wasn't that long ago that we managed to score no less than 20 goals in 5 games.

Today is the first of consecutive home games and we look forward to providing our members and supporters with positive performances and results as we aim to reclaim our rightful position at the top of the league.

Today's game kicks off at 4pm at CB Smith Reserve.
