MORELAND ZEBRAS ANNOUNCE 2015 NPL JUNIOR COACHES

MORELAND ZEBRAS ANNOUNCE 2015 NPL JUNIOR COACHES

The Moreland Zebras Football Club is extremely proud to announce our new coaching team to lead our highly valued NPL juniors into 2015 and beyond.
These coaches have been selected based on criteria which took into account each individual coach’s football and training philosophy, teaching techniques, creativity and appreciation for the big picture of football development in the NPLV and Australia.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide the Moreland Zebras family with high quality coaching across all age groups and we look forward to seeing their hard work and passion manifested in the development of our young NPL players. Their commitment to creating prosperous learning environments and a culture of growth, as well as playing exciting, energetic football will ensure that our young players are given the best possible opportunity to develop and enjoy their football experience.

Meet our coaching team below:

Under 12 (2003)
ALEJANDRO OSORIO
AFC Youth C Licence

Alejandro has been with the club for a number of years now as part of our skill acquisition phase and has had a direct role in the development of some of our very talented junior players while completing a full apprenticeship under our current NPL U20 Coach Alex Cobo. His commitment to each individual player is second to none and has a proven track record, having coached some of our highly talented junior NPL players in the past few years.

Under 13 (2002)
FABRIZIO ROCCHI
AFC B Licence

Unfortunately last year’s coach Davide had to move on due to new NPL regulations and we wish him all the very best with the Dandenong Thunder U20 NPL squad.
A strong replacement would be tough to find but we have secured one of the best upcoming coaches in the state in Fabrizio.
Having previously worked as an assistant to Melbourne City assistant coach Ivan Jolic in the FFA Skill Acquisition program, as an FFV State Development Program assistant coach as well as a Victorian Champions League Coach for the Northern All Stars, and of course doing a sensational job with our very own Under 16 squad in 2014, Fabrizio brings a wealth of experience, passion and professionalism to this new role. His background in skill acquisition coupled with his advanced tactical understanding will see this talented age group continue to rapidly progress.

Under 14 (2001)
JOE FORGIONE
FFA Game Training Certificate (AFC C Pending)

Joe joins us from community club Manningham United and is an exciting new addition to the NPL coaching family. He has huge passion for player development and understands the teaching and learning mechanisms that allow for strong growth in players. Joe’s attention to detail and unwavering knowledge of the National Curriculum make him an exciting prospect and that insight and drive will be channelled through him into our players.

Under 15 (2000)
FRANK PETRICCA
AFC C Licence (in progress)

Frank’s extraordinary efforts with our Under 14s in 2014 will see him returning to take charge of the same age group in 2015. Frank is a coach who leaves no stone unturned in his search for best practice and the most effective methods of educating young footballers. His highly professional and determined approach translated into some of the best football in the state played by his squad this year and we expect to see that continue to expand in 2015.

Under 16 (1999)
LINN CHAN
AFC C Licence

Linn’s vast skill set has seen him work as both a skill acquisition coach at Pascoe Vale and as the Reserves and Senior Assistant coach at Essendon Royals. He has a unique ability to connect with and get the best out of players at both ends of the age spectrum, and it’s highly fitting that we’ve landed him right in the middle of those two polar opposites in order to best utilize both his experience of the performance phase and knowledge of the skill acquisition phase and translate that into strong coaching in the game training phase where often those two opposites merge. Linn will provide our Under 16 players with the best possible preparation for the transition into the performance phase of their development.

Under 18 (1997+)
MORIS MIHAILIDIS
AFC C Licence

Our new Under 18 coach joins us from Northcote City. Moris has experience at senior level in the performance phase having been the Women’s Premier League coach at South Melbourne and Preston Lions as well as U21 Coach at Port Melbourne. He has also worked as a Victorian Champions League coach at Northern All Stars and Central City. He is committed to continuing the development of players while initiating them into a phase where results become as important as tactical development and will prepare our youngsters to step up into NPL U20 and Seniors.

We hope that all past, present and future members of the Moreland Zebras family will join us in welcoming our NPL Coaching team with warm, open arms.
