23-24 May results (UPDATED)

Yourland Men's Div 1 vs Colts: lost 2 - 6. Goal scorers: Trent Gladstone, Brenton Ellis.

In sunny but cool conditions, Colts FC travelled to at Epsom Huntly Reserve to face a patchwork Epsom FC riven by injuries to key players sustained in previous weeks.

Before the hosts could settle in, Colts FC had broken the deadlock with a fast header that left the Epsom Goalkeeper with no chance. And in the 7th minute, Colts doubled its advantage in similar fashion. Following a 3rd goal, in which the Colts offender evaded Epsom's off side trap, Epsom were in deep trouble just 16 minutes in.

Adversity often breeds resiliance, and this day was no different for Epsom who then dominated possession and opportunities for the rest of the half, with Trent Gladstone smartly scoring in a 1 v 1 against the Colts goalkeeper. But just on the eve of the break, Colts scored again to leave the score at 4-1.

Shortly after the resumption, Colts scored again but this was quickly matched when Brenton Ellis scored a stinging unbeatable goal.

In the 67th minute, a missed penalty by Epsom didn't help neutralise the scoreboard and at the end of the day Colts were 6-2 winners with a scoreline that slightly flattered given both teams had plenty of opportunities.
