Senior Coach Departure
Surf Coast Football Club would like to notify it's members that Senior Coach Steve Tillinger is not able to continue in his role as Head Coach for the 2017 season.
Steve has a career opportunity with work that requires him to put his wonderful passion for coaching and Surf Coast on hold, for those who witnessed Steve at the Club this year know his high level of commitment, time and effort he put into the Club and understand that this decision has not been made lightly.
The Committee gave Steve as long as he needed to make the decision because the players and Committee were happy to see Steve continue the great work and level of professionalism never seen before at Surf Coast. The highlights other than just finishing one point off playoff spot were the players team work, ethic and bond between the Senior Men and Women teams, no other Club comes close in these areas.
We thank Steve for his tremendous contribution to the Club over the last 12 months, the Committee looks to hopefully keep Steve involved within the Club next year in a smaller capacity to keep his passion for the sport alive even if it is as his son Noah looks to become a mini roo!
The Committee will seek to advertise for a new coach ASAP with an appointment to be confirmed after the AGM on the 16th of November.
