Surf Coast FC New Head Coach Announced!

Surf Coast FC are delighted to announce Steve Tillinger as the new Senior Head Coach of the Men's State Four team for 2016.

After receiving a high number of quality applicants, the Surf Coast FC Panel consisting of Dave Picken, Col Paton, Micka Pocklington and Brenton Howe were able to shortlist and interview a number of applicants.

Steve's professionalism, excellent communication skills and genuine enthusiasm for the role were a stand out for the Panel along with Steve well on the way to completing his B Licence along with his three years experience coaching at Bell Park, and this season coaching Port Melbourne Under 18's in the NPL.

Steve was also highly recommended by Mike Cooper, who as we know was previously involved with Surf Coast Football Club and Football Federation Victoria and now working with Football Federation Australia in Sydney.

Darren Edginton, Surf Coast FC President is delighted to welcome Steve to our Club and views Steve's professionalism and enthusiam as a huge step forward for the Club as it looks to develop our exciting young talent at the Club.

Steve's first official engagement will be on Wednesday the 4th of November at the Club where all senior and reserve players are invited to officially meet the new Coach but most importantly Steve will outline his plan for the players and what the first 16 weeks of training/pre-season will entail.

This is a must attend for all players wishing to be involved in State League 4 next year.

Surf Coast FC have also been invited to once again be apart of the Diversity Cup for 2016 (formally known as the Geelong Advertiser Cup) this is a great opportunity for the Club to be apart of the local football communities pre-season competition.

More details to come.

We welcome Steve to the Club and thank all those applicants who expressed an interest in the role.

We also take this opportunity to once again thank Rob Casha for his hard work with the senior team over the last two years and hope Rob will still be apart of the Club as a coach, player (Over 35's/Yellow Div 3) of Surf Coast FC and/or our WNPL family in Galaxy United!
