Six men’s teams and two women’s teams from across western Canada gathered in Kelowna for the 13th annual Australian Football League (AFL) Kelowna Cup.
Great play by both sides in the women's division but the Calgary Kookaburras took the win 2-0 against the Vancouver Vixens to be crowned the 2018 Western Canada Champions.
For the first time in the sports’ short history in Kelowna, the Vernon and Kelowna players joined to form the standalone Vernon Roosters in the men's division.
The Kelowna Cup is not a qualifier for any subsequent tournaments, but does warm up the players for the approaching Canadian Nationals in July and the US Nationals in October 2018.
Be sure to check back next year to make sure you catch the annual tournament!
