Kookaburras remain Western Canada Champions in Kelowna

Five men’s teams and two women’s teams from across Western Canada gathered in Kelowna for the 14th annual Australian Football League (AFL) Kelowna Cup.

It was a hard fought battle by both sides in the women's division but the Calgary Kookaburras took the win 2-0 against the Vancouver Vixens to be crowned the 2019 Western Canada Champions and hold their title for a 2nd unbeaten year in a row.

The Kelowna Cup is not a qualifier for any subsequent tournaments, but does warm up the players for the other games during the year including the final tournament in Portland, USA, in September 2019.

Be sure to check back next year and catch the annual tournament!
