Brothers and Sisters of the Sherrin,
Well the home and away season has finished with some interesting results from the weekend but the 8 are now set. I do wish all teams have a great final series but most of all every one stays safe. There is plenty left in our program and much to offer especially those that want to keep their fitness levels up which leads me into our training program for this week.
Training:
Back down to the Strand on Wednesday night at 5.30, try and get there a little earlier so we can get straight into it. Sunday will see us at the Tigers at 10. Every one going to Geelong should be at training. I have been asked to report on attendance and performance. It makes it easier for me if I see you there but more importantly it’s your performance model, the more you put in the more you get out.
Special Mention:
We have a number of members who are on the injured list for one reason or the other.
John Finn:
Life member, one of the originals is looking at dual knee replacements latter in the year. That will be the end of playing but what a career, All Australian, Superman of the year a real quality player with great positional awareness and always an asset to any team he played in. We wish you well Legend and hope for a speedy recovery
Karl Luck:
Karl has just recovered from knee surgery but is now looking to back surgery can’t win a trick. Karl is a gifted athlete, with great strength and hand eye skills but is one of our league converts not that he would admit to that. Karl is our Vice President and puts a lot into our programs which is greatly missed when down like he is at the moment.
Our Whitsunday Brothers:
Right now we have 3 of our friends down at Airlie with some health challenges. Jack, Shane and Jay. While all 3 are in varying stages of recovery and we do hope we see them all firing on all cylinders very shortly get well guys.
Geelong:
We are now only 5 weeks away from the National Carnival with big numbers in all age groups. I believe this is one of our largest teams ever for an away carnival which will include a ladies team some of which are traveling from Townsville. Townsville are also supplying umpires which is a great credit to them and our city. Competition for places are strong which makes it vital everyone gets to training. Any problems please do not hesitate to contact me any time. They have released team apps for those that want timely updates and contact with your age team mates.
Cardwell:
Guys I should be able to provide more information on a Cardwell date in the next week or so. Now is the time to start preparing and we are trying to get good numbers up there. Start giving it some thought and let us know if there is a different approach you want us to consider.
That’s it for now legends keep living the dream and talk soon.
Kind Regards
Mozza
