Brothers and Sisters of the Sherrin,
I hope this note finds you all well. The finals are now with us and some not happy with the bye last weekend. Good or bad all sides should be rested up and ready to give their best. Locally we have the Tigers taking on the Hawks and looking forward to a close one hopefully. Let’s get into it with only 4 weeks to the Nationals as of today.
Training is on down at the Strand Park at 5.30 sharp. Next Sunday is at the Tigers at 10 as usual. We have been getting good numbers but if you are playing at the Nationals you need to get to training. Coaches are asking me how you are going and it’s a bit hard if I don’t see you there. Everyone is welcomed and even if you are not going to Geelong your support for the other guys goes a long way to support them. We are leading into the final weeks so contact work will wind back with focus on skills which makes it clean for everyone. If you are having problems with getting down give me a call and will see what we can do.
During the first finals round Masters stood up to assist the local league by manning the bar over the Saturday and Sunday which was a great effort. We had 10 hard workers put their hand up and provide assistance which set a great standard and one that was noted by all around. Thumbs up to Mr. Soars on being the ground marshall for the days. Masters with their continued support for Umpires, Juniors and Senior teams, whether it’s a fun game against a reserve side, a serious carnival or a fund raiser it is your constant support that makes a difference and please do not ease up as we have so much to do. Right now we need to lift to raise more for the Ted Whitten Prostate Cancer Foundation. Julie is working overtime and has been holding raffles down at the club every Sunday morning to get enough in the kitting when we go down to Geelong. Congratulations to Denise Soars on winning the fathers day raffle. Can you get down and buy a few tickets or if you just want to throw $10 bucks into the pile go right ahead.
Just finalising but it looks like it will be the weekend of the 11th November and we are looking for players. Who can you talk into coming along?? This will be Gibbo’s last game so let’s give him one monster send off. As things get sorted I will advise details. The Whitsunday boys wanted to bring it forward but due to a local fishing Competition this was not possible sorry guys.
New Shirts and Singlets:
They are in and ready for purchase and look great. I think they are the best ever and thanks to Anne for all her hard work. If you want to pick up a set or better yet they would make great Christmas presents. Hang on a sec I just got a clip from Denise maybe they won’t but I could wear them every day of the week. Anne is Nev going to model the singlets? Shirts $45 each and Singlets $35. I know too cheap but we are here to look after you.
Guys if you need anything (bloody football related) give me a call. We are leading up to the end of the year and we will be holding a Christmas Party details to follow. Well Legends keep living the dream and talk soon.
