Brothers and Sisters of the Sherrin,

I hope this note finds you all well and enjoying life. The first of August tomorrow and a lot happening in the world of Masters. First up I will focus on next weekend.

Maggie Game:

We have a game on at the Magpies home ground at Horseshoe Bay on the beautiful Maggie Island. We have plenty of room for players so if you have not advise me of your availability can you do so over the next few days. This game is important on many levels the first being support for the local junior club. We will be holding a raffle to raise some money which will go to the Magpies, use of their canteen but most of all connecting with the fantastic mums and dads that work so hard to provide for the kids an opportunity to enjoy the great game of AFL. We also get to encourage locals to have a game and hopefully join the Masters family on a regular basis. And let’s not forget this has to be one of the best settings you could hope for to have a kick. There are regular ferry’s over to the island and the bus meets each arrival to get you to the ground. I know some of the guys are making a weekend of it so keep an eye out for details on FB and the Masters Web Site for that. If you are a local then this is a not to be missed event. Even if you can’t play come down and support the kids both young and old. The game will start @ 12 with the format dependant on numbers but the emphasis will be on having fun. It will also be a good hit out for those going to Geelong.

Hawks day 19th August at HPO:

The Hawks have asked us to support their Sparkle’s Fundraiser Day with a game before the reserves on the 19th. This is a great cause and well worth our support. We are looking for numbers and another hit out before Geelong. More details to come on this one but start considering your availability and let me know as soon as you can.

The close out for registration for the Nationals at Geelong is fast approaching which is the 11th August. If you are still tossing it around now is the time to choose. We are still looking for numbers especially in the 35’s , 50’s, 55’s and 60’s so now is the time to move. If you have never been to a National this is clearly a bucket list item for old footballers and if you have you don’t want the last to be your last. It would be great to follow up last year’s results with a couple more wins. If you need any assistance let me know and will do what I can.

That is about it for now Legends so keep living the dream and talk soon.
