Brothers and Sisters of the Sherrin,
A couple of items to cover before we get lost in organising our individual Easter weekends. We have this weekend down at Airlie, back to normal training the following weekend then the Townsville Carnival the one after that. It is very busy time for Masters and we have a call out from AFLT looking for players so I will touch on that item. But first last weekend.
1) Charters Towers Trip: Here is Gibbo's Report:
Feedback from training at Charters Towers - Sunday 9th April.
Good turn out by both the Charters Towers Team and the Townsville Sharks. With a mixed of both teams, an 11 a side on the small ground, was great.
Brendan picked a classy team which had them taking a 10 goal to nil lead after the first quarter. Being on the that got the battering, I know the Hawks felt against the Suns. A change or two had to be made to make a game out of the next three 15 minute quarters.
From the second quarter, the competition was close and a great game was had by all.Happy to report no injuries.
Most of us were able to hang around after the game for a drink and a free feed, put on by the Charters Towers Boys.
Again thanks to Andy for his coaching and pre training delivered to both clubs before the game.
2) Whitsunday Tropical Cup:
Guys got word from Shane if you go to the Whitsunday FB Page the details to register on line are there. It is $50 per player/family and they need your shirt size. Shane mine is M in case it got lost. Try and get down Friday for Team selection and there is camping at the ground.
3) Queensland Country Championships 30th April 2017:
It is full steam ahead we will put a playing schedule out and parking details next week (don’t want any confusion with this weekend) The entire program is at the Tigers ground with games and then food and drinks upstairs after woods.
4) AFLT Call for Players:
Guys I know we are Masters but can the younger ones consider if they can help one of our struggling clubs (Swans) There will be several incentives such as no registration fees, free home game entry and flexibility in training arrangements to recognise your support. If you can let me know I will get further details to you.
Here is to all of you and hope you ae a great Easter. If you are driving anywhere stay safe and make sure you return with batteries charged and ready to get into more footy. No local games this weekend for us but plenty on elsewhere. Whatever team you follow I do hope you get a win but more importantly enjoy. Take care and talk soon.
