Brothers and Sisters of the Sherrin,

I hope all are enjoying the footy season which is well underway now with some interesting results after round 2. The Tigers and Bulldogs seem to have their afterburners on while some of the big names like the Hawks and swans struggling to get traction. Still it is early days and looks to be an interesting season. There is a fair bit to cover so let's get into it.

1) Yesterday's Training Session:

A good role up for training which was held on RMS to let the Tigers ground continue to recover. As part of our education program Petra who is a ICU nurse delivered a talk on men's health after training and all reports suggest very well received so a big thanks to her and the support she gives on weekends and carnivals. Now while delivering the talk one of our members had a turn which required a ambulance to be called and taken to the TGH for further test. But clearly he was in the best of hands with Petra and others there and brings a timely reminder guys have you had a check-up lately? It does not matter if you are felling OK just get in there and get a check-up now. Tell you have done it lets share the experience and be positive about it to encourage others.  I won't give all details on the player in question just yet but as soon as I get the all clear I will supply details.

2) Next Week's Training:

We are booked to go to Charters Towers next Sunday. If you can go and would encourage as many as possible first let me or Andy or Gibbo know. The plan is to meet in the McDonalds Car Park near the Murray Grounds between 7.30 and 8. If you need a lift let us know as well as those who can take their car up. We will return to the carpark after lunch so you can pick your vehicle up from there. Let's get behind the program and put in a good show.

3) Queensland Country Championships:

We will be fielding 2 sides at the QCC a 35's and a 45's. I will have a draw out this week but will be held at the Tigers ground on Sunday the 30th April with a function upstairs afterwards. We need all on deck so let us know you can play, who else you can bring along as well. It is important you get them down for a couple of training runs as well. All will need to be registered and will be required to sign team sheets and disclaimers before the game. Bring your tape and any personal requirements.

4) PNG Trip:

Flowing the recent arrival of PNG's Prime mister Peter O'Neil one of his staff has suggested an exhibition match in Port Mosby. We would need to take both sides up and umpires and so on. What are your thoughts?? Would you be interested in playing in the first Masters game in PNG?? Give it some thought and get back to me. It is all about expanding the game. We now have direct flights out of Townsville twice a week.

Well Legends that is about it for now. Don’t forget about our Whitsunday project. Keep well, look after each other and will talk to you soon.

Kind Regards
