I hope all are well and you had an enjoyable Easter. We took a fair size crew down to Airlie for the Whitsunday Tropical Cup and what a great event it was. The one consistent comment was the quality of the spirit the games were played in. When you mix the ages up it does carry a little concern but credit to all and the focus was to have fun and that was achieved.
Two injuries to report with Starkey taking some friendly fire and ended up with a yellow cab ride into Prossie. Fortunately nothing broken and is recovering with severe bruising. We all hope he is back on his feet quickly and showing that trade mark pace he has. These where part of the NQ Games which is put on by the North Queensland Sports Foundation. As a result medal handed out to the top 3 sides on the day and I believe everyone was happy with the participation in what is a great Biannual event. It was back in 2012 we last competed in this event something we should visit more often.
On the Friday we had the Suicide Prevention Walk which was also well attended and at the Bowls club a footy was auctioned off to raise more funds for this key event. Thanks to all that participated and especially to Danny McLoughlin from All Finanz Group for his generous support. http://allfinanzgroup.com.au
As usual I have to put this down to one of the great events of the year and thanks to all the Baldies who put in such a top effort. Well done guys you are true Masters. It was also great to see so many old faces there with Jack, Chris and Bobby heading the old boys and there was Tasy on the bench at 71 what an effort. Just one more item on this carnival we had ladies for the first time what a top effort and they played really well. Check out the impovments that are happening at the Whitsunday Sportspark. https://www.facebook.com/whitsundaysportspark/…
Training is on this Sunday at 10 we need every one there so get down early as we prepare for our Carnival on the 6th May. Make sure you are down early enough to get changed and warmed up so we can kick off at 10. Then it is upstairs for a few drinks and relive some of the great and not so great moments from last weekend.
Have you got a mate to bring down to training? We are on the lookout for new players, supporters and volunteers. You are the future of the club and the sooner we can get you involved the bigger the club will grow. Come down and just have a look, ask questions and perhaps test the water just a little.
We need every one for the Queensland Country Carnival so can you start letting us know of your availability. If you can’t play is there something else you can do even if it is just for a few hours? Send an email, give us a call or see us at training as they say many hands make light work. Everyone has a great time as we are there just to have fun.
That is it for now keep living the dream and talk soon Legends.
Kind Regards
Mozza
