Edwards and Duggan Take Home Stewart Award
Close to 40 Dingos, girlfriends, wives, and supporters dressed themselves up and made their way to The Office Pub this past weekend to celebrate the 2015 season. The annual Awards Night is always a great event - one final chance for the club to gather and celebrate the season before the long winter hits.
Some highlights of the 2015 night:
- Rise of the Irish - With Kevin Mulholland winning Div 2 Coach's Award, Niall O'Kane winning Rookie of the Year (and 2nd in Stewart Award voting!), and Gary Conlon looking sharp in a good suit, it was a banner evening for the Irish members of the Dingos.
- Sloppy Sendoff - As part of his farewell tour, Shaun "Sloppy" McKay graced the lads with his presence at Awards Night and took home the Player's Player Award. Grilled with questions about the club from MC's Wado and Robbo, Sloppy performed admirably, or at least much better than Thumper did last year.
- Record Vote Count - Dingos historians are still checking through databases, but it is possible that Wade's 156 votes were the most ever recorded at an Awards Night. Well done, Wado, on a well-deserved Stewart Award.
- Steinberg Dominance - Justin Robertson took home his fourth Steinberg Award (and third in a row), a tribute to his tireless work for the club over the years. And the award was presented to him by the man himself, legendary Honest Jake Steinberg, who did not charge for his services.
Here is the full list of award winners for the night:
