The Seniors finally got control of a game early, and in general were always on top, although the Bulls would not go away till the final term. It was a pleasing senior display highlighted again by another wonderful effort from full forward Justin Van Unen. The Craig Coghlan Award went to “JV” again followed by Lachlan Johns, Ryan Mullett, Simon Taylor, Tom Schneider, Rory Lehmann, Grant McCarthy and Dave Barton. The Reserves also took a long time to get control, but played some very good footy with many players putting their hands up for a senior spot. A fantastic situation to be in. The Perry Fletcher Award went to Daniel Reid, followed by Jarryd Smith, Andy Ellis, Jack McEwin, Matt Barnard and Duncan Jones. The Under 19’s had a picnic and to their credit, they maintained their concentration and structures to the end to record a mammoth win. The Transit Best Player Award went to Mike Carroll, from Tyson Hyams, Ned Coghlan, Ryan Phillips and Jay Barlow. Unfortunately, the FH Eagles could not make it three in a row at Coldstream and went down by 21pts. The Best Players were Stefan Veljovic, Brendan Perring, Chris Bell, Brendan McCafferty, Will Hastings and Josh Dwyer. THE PLAYERS AUCTION went well and we thank all those who purchased teams and we now look forward to the weekly scores. Team 10 Captained by Adam Parker took the lead and owner Bernie Dinneen will be rewarded. The PRE SEASON RAFFLE was drawn and the winning tickets were ticket # 1579 purchased by M.Dunning, 2nd #3734 S.Davidson and 3rd # 0030 A.Chiodo. Thankyou to all those who purchased tickets and who sold them. Special thanks to Tony Weiss from Elite Appliances for donating the major Prize. Next Saturday is the Past Players Annual Lunch. If you are not a paid up member, you can do that on the day.
