Good hit out for ALL Three Mitcham Teams on Sunday when we travelled to The Heatherton Football Club to take on the Chelsea Seagulls from the very strong Mornington Peninsula Football League. All three Mitcham teams were missing players due to cricket finals and unavailability’s etc. In hot conditions all three teams got plenty out of the games, for the record we lost all three games by small margins BIG THANK you to the Heatherton Football club for hosting us and the Chelsea boys for the games. GOOD luck to both clubs for the upcoming season. See below for our coaches thoughts
Under 19s
A great first hit out today against a very good Chelsea outfit in the Under 19's. With a number of key players not available our boys showed we are extremely capable of playing some very good footy when we stick to our structures. Our intensity was spot on from the opening bounce and the boys willingness to win the contested footy didn't disappoint. While our senior players put in solid performances across the entire ground it was the bottom age players out of the 17's who didn't look out of place in extremely hot conditions with no bench to rotate through. While we have some things to work on in the coming weeks I think we showed some very positive signs for what will be an exciting year for the Under 19's. Well done to Thomas Peace & Luke McKeown who backed it up to help out the Ressies today and to Tom Lucas & Johlen Raath who ran water for the Seniors. Good to see all three sides working together!

Reserves
First praccy match on a stinker of a day, we were playing with 16 on the ground and 2 on the bench due to numbers, thanks to Bluey and Peacy from the u19's helping us out gave us a couple more. Quite a few new blokes with 4 u19's coming up and 4 new to the club. Although we went down by 4 goals I thought we had the most of the play especially out of the middle but missed opportunities cost us, our skills were solid which was great, plenty to work on but overall a very good hit out with lots of positives.Next couple of weeks should see a number of regulars return and hopefully cooler weather for oour next game

Seniors
In hot conditions the seniors took a half to get going and play the brand of footy we need to play to be successful this year. We were able to use the ball much better and get our set ups around the stoppages where they need to be in the 2nd half and this allowed us to gain some ascendency. All in all a good first hit out with areas to work on and also some positives.
