A busy weekend for the Tigers this week with our first game in The Temporary facilities and a president’s lunch in the Mitcham Marquee. Seniors and Reserves both were at home while our unders played East Burwood away. With plenty of changes at the selection table Thursday nigh due to injury and travel, unfortunately we only got the chocolates in one of our 3 games this week with the reserves scoring a stirring come from behind victory. Seniors inaccuracy in front of goal hurt their chances going down by 11 points and the unders couldnt find the goals early losing by 24 points. The Netball Girls continued their winning ways with both team recording good wins. President’s lunch had over 100 guests in the Temporary Mitcham Marquee enjoying a fantastic lunch supplied by Club Sponsor Nikos Tavern and a great interview with Richmond premiership Stars Shaun Grigg and Josh Caddy. BIG THANK YOU to those people that worked before during and after the event and during the day to make sure our first home game in our Temporary facilities ran smoothly. #strongandbold THANK YOU also to our resident photographers Debbie Stingell and Graham Bradkte for the great photos
UNDER 19s Coaches Report
In writing the Round 9 Match Report, I would like to firstly reference one of our major Goals and Objectives that was discussed as a Team at our Season Launch back in March.
That being as follows:
I believe that there are a number of imperatives for our new season, when we consider our Goals and Ambitions.
BUILD LEADERSHIP- throughout the entire playing group.
My Football Philosophy- is all about:
EMPOWERMENT and ACCOUNTABILITY
This allows in times of stress/duress, that instead of having1,2 or 3 team members standing up, leaders across ALL lines can present and drive our standards.
In referencing the above it's worth noting that of our leadership group we have lost 3 of our leadership group to either season ending injury or promotion to our senior side YTD.
This objective continues to be a massive work in progress as again yesterday we lapsed for 5 minutes in the second quarter and the game was gone.
We had a ferocious start to the game and dominated possession across Q1 although some sloppiness with ball in hand did not allow us to create any scoreboard pressure.
The early stages of Q2 were some what of an arm wrestle until we lapsed in concentration and East Burwood pounced, kicking 3 goals within a number of minutes without any real pressure from our boys.
Q3 we asked for some focus on the East Burwood running half backs and for last more pressure to be put on the ball carrier.
Whilst we gained some more footy and opportunity up forward we were unable to convert majors allowing East Burwood to kick another 2 goals leading into the 3/4 time break.
All that was asked for at the break was for some endeavour and to kick 3 goals for the quarter.
Whilst we feel just short of their we were at least able got find some avenue to goal via Cam Pirzas who kicked our 2 goals.
Tony Kim, Josh Valle, Tim Ross, Gus Teruree, Max Hammond, Jayden Holloway.
Note: Its vitally important that moving forward that this group can do some special things moving forward.
So long as the players within understand that at any time you can be called upon to play a role that best suits the TEAM, not necessarily your want but what perhaps is best for our TEAM and the particular circumstances we face in that game.

Reserves Coaches Report
Round 9 and we have reached the halfway mark of the season, with 7 wins it’s been a solid effort thus far. Ringwood who beat us in Rd 2 are in good form so we knew it was to be tough day, coming off a break and with 7 changes from the previous game we were slow out of the blocks, our skills and structure were only ok as Ringwood were playing the better. Halftime we managed to be in front by a goal however in the 3rd Ringwood came out and quickly scored 4 goals to nothing to lead at one stage by 21 points, to our credit we did fight back late in the qtr to be down at by 3 goals heading into the last. The boys responded with a doer effort to dominate the last qtr, DJ into the ruck was outstanding as he gave us drive at every clearance and our on ballers Tsolos & Tex were super, after missing a couple of shots the boys soon kick straight as we booted 5 goals to 1 point to take the win. DJ was our best as he took control in the middle, Wexy at halfback in the last qtr was terrific as he cleaned up there attack with good rebound, Tex, Mark P, Brocky and Mark D all booted goals and were pivotal to the win however the contribution from everyone in the 2nd half was pleasing to see, our boys refusal to lose was the highlight as sometimes you are not at your best but they found a way through attitude and a selfless approach! Great day for the club as the Presidents lunch was a success, thanks to the supporters once again we love you all…see you next week.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we hosted Ringwood last years grand finalist who sit 2nd on the ladder. Whoever won would be on top of the ladder so it was a very important match. We started the game well, moving the ball quickly into our forward line and giving our forwards good one on one opportunities as we skipped out to a 19 point lead at ¼ time. In the 2nd quarter Ringwood lifted around the ball and used the ball well going forward to trim our lead to 7 points. The 3rd quarter was very tight as both sides had moments of ascendency and we took a 3 point lead into the last quarter. The last quarter was a fantastic contest with both sides giving everything they had, unfortunately our accuracy in front of goal came back to haunt us as we missed 4 relatively simple shots at goal to go down by 10 points. Anthony Willenberg continued his good form for us around the footy and Jake Parente loomed large all day with 4 goals.
Thanks to everyone who came along to the presidents lunch, we really appreciate you supporting the club.
