Meatloaf once sang "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" and while we enjoyed success in both the under 19s and Reserves, we came up short in the main game against Bayswater away this week. Our netball girls had a bye this week so our very young under 19s opened the batting with a solid 9 goal win against the waters. Really pleasing to see these guys coming together as a team and its important like our seniors we understand this is a team we are building and developing for the long term future of the club. Guy Laughlin booted 4, with Billy Stingell, Richardson, Valle, Horsey, Powson and Hilton all named in the best. Reserves were also were very good running out 6 goal winners with a number of boys staking a claim for senior selection, Glanville and Marro both booted 3 with Barro, Lee, Marro, Nicholas, Hallo and Hill all named in the best. Seniors never really got going but we did blood a couple of new youngsters in Cherry and Arguello who proved they can match it at senior level.
NEXT WEEK we play Mulgrave AT HOME with both clubs searching for their first win. Would be great to see the army out in force just like our theme song through thick and thin.
THEN Saturday night, the Junior and Senior club come together as one for our biggest event of the year. Last year’s comedy night attracted over 400 people and we think this year’s event should be just as big - If you haven’t booked your tickets yet, you need to do so NOW with Macca.
If you can’t attend you can still support the club buy buying a ticket or 3 in the “OUR EXPERIENCE FOOTY LIKE NEVER BEFORE” raffle drawn on the night, We still has some tickets available, this is an one line raffle so please purchase tickets at
Once again thank you to Debbie Stingell for the great photos
UNDER 19s Coaches Report
After a very wet night the playing conditions were quite soggy which made for a very tough and tight 1st half? Bayswater made us work very hard which to the boys credit we did well to contain them .Our back 6 were fantastic absorbing & repelling the many entries their run gave them & so we went into the break 2pts up with some work to do
The 2nd half seen us take control of the game quite quickly with Billy Stingell in the ruck against a much bigger opponent, great suggestion Jayden Irving basically giving us a lot more run through the middle & Guy Laughlin to the forward line for 4 second half goals allowed us to run out comfortable winners in a game that was a lot tougher than the scores showed. A real gritty Team effort by our boys with everyone contributing, all in this entire young group are growing each week as a team & this was another step in the right direction for us

RESERVES Coaches Report
Travelling to play Bayswater we were confident that we could take the chocolates with the side we named, our focus was to play 4 qtrs as this has been something we have not been able to do all year, the 1st qtr was solid with both sides applying good pressure. The plan was to keep our fwd 50 open so we could use our leg speed to run onto the open kick, the boys were terrific as we executed what we planned to take a 2 goal lead into the main break, after halftime we put the peddle down and we kicked away to with super ball movement and confident play in through the corridor, our fwd pressure being the highlight, Barro once again was our best his multiple efforts all day just outstanding, Riley Nicholas, Matt Hill showed their class, Lou Marro was dangerous kicking multiple goals. All in all we were pleased with a win however the challenge now is to bring this footy each week, it's not ability we have that, it's mentally staying in the game for 4 qtrs. Huge Thanks to everyone that came down to offer their support.

SENIOR Coaches Report
This week we travelled out to Bayswater which was always going to be a tough proposition given they came down from division 1 this year. We knew a good start would be crucial in us getting the 4 points. Bayswater quickly put that to bed, winning the ball around the stoppages and hitting targets inside forward 50 and going into 1/4 time with a 6 goal lead. Staring the down the barrel of a huge loss the challenge was to work our way into the contest and start using the ball better by foot. We were able to do that for the last 3 quarters and despite the margin ending up over 10 goals we played much better footy for the remainder of the contest. Jess Cherry was fantastic in his first senior game and showed that he is in for a long exceptional career and Lachlan Rudd was great down back. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us, we look forward to seeing you all at home this week against Mulgrave as we aim to get our first win on the board.
