EFL LOOKING AT RESTRUCTURE FOR 2018

And just as the EFL Confirms reduced player points and new salary cap for the 2017 football season, The EFL continues discussions with clubs about reducing Division 1 to a 10-team competition in 2018. The league has received informal feedback from clubs during the finals series about scaling back Division 1 from a 12-team competition and creating a Premier division. Any restructure would likely see a new Premier competition and Division 1 compiled of 10 teams, while divisions two, three and four would be made up of eight sides.
