West Adelaide Women's Football Club has a proud tradition in the SAWFL having played four years as Westies and previously know as the Eagles.  The club has multiple Dutsche award recipients Cass Hartley and Sara Masiero who both recently celebrated their 250 games milestone in the 2016 Grand Final.  State and premiership players Emily Woods, Danielle Cresp and Kirsty Degabrielle who amongst them have played over 950 Games.

We currently have five players who have represented the state this year in the All Stars Program and in the 2016 State Teams. Rachael Killian the youngest of our state team reps was the 2013 recipient of the Inaugural Melissa Backhouse Rising Star award at the 2013 National titles in her first year of club football, and since her first season has represented the state each year that championships have been held.  Louella McCarthy has a multiple sport discipline background having played both Cricket and Football at a representative level.  Louella has also played representative football as an ADF player.  Kirsty Degabrielle has Captained and won as a state representative leading the SA team to the 2012 National Championship title she is also a 5x Club Best and Fairest.  Rebekka McMahon has represented both South Australia and Queensland and is also a premiership player.  Finally Alli Evans who made the transition from Netball to Aussie Rules this year, playing her first game of football on Adelaide Oval as a member of the All Stars team, unfortunately was kept out of the state game with broken ribs however we expect to see her feature in years to come.

At West Adelaide we welcome new players interested in playing competitive football and offer great club facilities with our home at City Mazda Stadium we train on Tuesday nights from 6.30pm and Thursday nights 6pm starting with a Video Game Day review and training commencing at approximately 6.30pm.

West Adelaide Football Club have been a strong supporter of the West Adelaide Women's Football Club and we appreciate the access we have to the gym, oval, nutritionist, fitness coach and medical personel.   Behind the scenes we are currently planning and developing programmes to raise the bar in 2017 and are interested to hear from new players, coaches and support staff.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
