 Premier Sponsors:

Jarvis Barossa - 50-52 Murray St, TANUNDA

Since 1995, the Jarvis Group has provided over $1.5 million in support to South Australia and South East Asian charities.  A relative newcomer to the Barossa, the Jarvis Group is becoming involved with several grass roots level Clubs in the region and the Barossa District Football and Netball Club are amongst those.

The BDFNC is proud to include Jarvis Barossa as one of our Premier Sponsors.  If you are looking for a new Subaru, Suzuki, Isuzu or Skoda vehicle, or a range of quality used vehicles, or even a Stihl power tool, Jarvis Barossa is the place to go.  Call in and see any of the friendly staff who will listen to what you want and help you make the right selection with no pressure.

SPONSOR OF THE WEEK

FamilyOwned ESTATE GROWN Stamp

Ben and Alma Schild first moved to the Barossa Valley from Lameroo in the Murray Mallee in 1952. The first vineyard that the family purchased is located up the top of Steingarten Road, near Rowland Flat, where the original homestead is still situated.

In 1956 Ben Schild died suddenly and Ed, being the youngest of eight children and the only son to be living at home, stayed to run the family property at the age of 16.

Ed Schild’s enthusiasm for the region, its offerings and vineyards saw him steadily grow the landholdings of the Schild Family, which today encompasses over 450 acres under vine. Within this large amount of land is one small patch of 160 year old shiraz vines which produces the iconic Moorooroo Shiraz. Ed and Lorraine have four children and eight grandchildren which ensures a strong family focus within the winery today. In 1998 the Schild Estate label was established producing a total of 7 tonnes making 450 dozen and recently in the 2011 Vintage 600 Tonnes – 50,000 cases. So with that much work to do and so many family members, it sure makes for fun times in Lyndoch.

Until recently Schild Estate Wines were produced offsite, but in July 2010 Valley of Hope Winery was opened and 2011 saw the first complete vintage come through it’s doors, with Chief Winemaker Scott Hazeldine leading the charge.

Support

The tragic events of recent have affected BDFNC players, supporters, and friends in many ways. Our thoughts are very much with all the families that have been directly affected.  Through difficult times, communities unite to ensure appropriate support is available to those in need. To assist the club, we have engaged grief counsellors to provide confidential counselling to our players, members and supporters. If you or your child would like to seek the services of counselling, please contact Club Chairperson, Adam Grovermann on 0439 827 840.

Upcoming Social Events

Check out the Social Page for a complete list of Social functions.

Child Protection Policy

The Club now has a Child Protection Policy under the guidance of the Clubs Child Protection Officers - Juniors: Dawn Karlovec Phone - 0415 673 056; Colts: Judy Schild Phone - 0424 136 374. The Policy can be viewed by clicking on the Club Documents link under the "More Menus" link at the top of the page.

Liquor Licencing Requirements

The club would like to bring to the attention of supporters that all Football grounds are covered in their entirety by their Liquor Licence. This makes it illegal to bring your own Liquor onto Football grounds and can cause heavy fines to be imposed and in worst case circumstances the Club could lose its Licence. This would have disastrous impacts on the viability of the club concerned.

We would ask all supporters to respect this requirement of the Liquor Licencing Act.
