Gordon Nicholas AFL Merit Award

Gordon Nicholas recieves AFL Merit Award

Long serving UMFNL President Gordon Nicholas has been recognised for his service to football by receiving the AFL Merit Award at the AFL Victoria Community Football Awards on Friday night.

Gordon, who was nominated by AFL North East Border, has held the Presidents position of Upper Murray Football Netball League since 1989 when he was first elected into this role. Gordon has been continuously involved as the League Chairman for the past 29 years and continues today in this role as passionate and dedicated to Football and Netball in the Upper Murray Football Netball League as the day he took the role on in 1989.

He has also served as a long term player for his beloved Corryong Demons where his daughter has served as President and his eldest son as coach for many years.

On behalf of the UMFNL and the AFLNEB Communities, we congratulate Gordon on his Merit Award.
