Application for Level 1 Good Sports Accreditation.

The DFNC has applied to Good Sports Victoria for a level 1 Good Sports Club accreditation. This application is currently being processed and includes us continuing our current responsible serving of alcohol, developing an official smoke free policy inside our facilities and at our functions and strengthening our role as a family friendly inclusive club. This will be a positive for all at our club.more

Around eighty people attended the 2012 Senior Football and Netball vote count and presentation night at the Maryborough Golf Club last Friday evening. Guests were treated to a lovely two course meal and the room looked a treat, decked out in the colours of blue and gold.more

A great night was held at the Maryborough Golf Club last evening where eighty people saw Tony Bellenger win Senior best and fairest from Ashley Grant. Jason Hunt won the reserves from Nic Collins. Ashlee Lierich took out the A Grade Best and Fairest from Jess Fuller while Judy Gibbs pipped Katie Lovel for the B Grade honour. DFNC wins Trivia, brings home AED!

The DFNC now has an automated external defibrillator. This device can be used in the event of cardiac arrest to 'shock' the heart back into a normal rhythm. It is a potentially life saving piece of equipment and it is now available for users of the recreation reserve at Deledio Park 12 months a year.more

New senior Dunolly Netball coach appointed!

The DFNC has appointed Bob Gartside as the senior coach of Netball for 2012. Bob brings a wealth of coaching experience with him and we welcome him warmly to the Eagles. This years coaches, Ashlee Lierich and Katie Lovel will continue as players with Dunolly and we thank them for their efforts this year.


Lachie Liddicoat back in the Eagles colours!

In exciting football news for all Dunolly supporters, the club has re-signed champion ruckman Lachlan Liddicoat to play with Dunolly in 2012. Lachie spent 2011 playing for WRFL side Hoppers Crossing where he had a solid year of senior football. Lachie is excited to be back at Dunolly where he played most of his junior football before becoming one of the premier ruckman in the MCDFNL at senior level. Coach Tony Bellenger is wrapt that Lachie decided to return to Dunolly and sees him as an integral cog in the 2012 senior side.

The DFNC coaching panel is very pleased to announce our junior football coaching/development team for 2012. Wayne Lanfranchi, Rod Dodson and Steve Hawkes are all quality people with heaps of football experience behind them. They are excited and committed about giving our juniors every chance to develop as footballers and young men and the club is ready to support them wholeheartedly in this extremely important role.


2012 Management Committee in Place

Around 25 people attended the DFNC AGM on 25th of October to hear the yearly reports, reform the club for 2012 and affilliate with the MCDFNL again. All positions were declared vacant and the following committee members accepted nomination and were duly elected to these positions for 2012. Martin Bluey McGeown accepted his nomination as President and said signs were positive for 2012. Bluey was extremely happy with the committee chosen and stated that with hard work, a prosperous 2012 was very achievable. Bluey thanked the outgoing committee members, especially Stan McNamee who as President gave 100% and helped put the club on firm footing. The positions for the 2012 committee are as follows..

Ashlee Lierich and Ashlee Edwards will be calling in the renovators this week to add another storey to their trophy cabinets after being adjudged equal best and fairest winners for A Grade netball. Judy Gibbs continues to astound by taking out the B Grade best and fairest after being runner up in this years league voting. All the results from the netball presentation here..

James McNamee and Taylor Gale were judged the two best and fairest winners for senior and reserves football respectively last evening in a fantastic function at the Maryborough Golf Club. Maree Gale won the Billings shield for best club person and Wayne Lanfranchi was awarded a plaque for life membership of the DFNC. The football voting went as follows. New Coach takes the Eagle Reins!

The club is extremely pleased to announce that the experience and skill of Tony Bellenger will lead us into season 2012. Tony has been appointed as is already working hard as Senior coach for next year. The club hopes to announce more positions filled for coaching and assistant coaches over the coming weeks. The DFNC welcomes Tony and Brooke and their kids warmly.


Recruiting Officer Appointed!

The football department is pleased to announce that Rodney Dodson has taken on the role of chief recruiter for season 2012. Rod is a tireless worker and great supporter of the DFNC. His excellent communication skills, friendly manner and his wide network of contacts see him fit this role perfectly. The club looks forward to seeing the fruits of Rod's labour out on the park next season!


Annual General Meeting October 25.

The DFNC Inc. Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 25th of October at 7.30pm at Deledio Reserve Social Rooms. All positions will be declared vacant and nominations for executive and committee positions will be accepted at this meeting. All welcome.


Senior Presentation Night Sept 30.

The DFNC Senior vote count and presentation night is on Friday September 30 at the Maryborough Golf Club. Tickets are $25 each for a two course meal. This will be a great evening and all players, sponsors and supporters are encouraged to attend our final function for 2011.


Resignation of President Stan McNamee

The DFNC has received the resignation of President Stan McNamee. The committee has accepted Stan's resignation regretfully but understand that he feels it is time to step away from this position. Stan has given his all to the club in his time at Dunolly and the role he vacates will leave big shoes to fill. In Stan's time as President, the club has introduced a stable off field sponsorship and fundraising structure. We have played finals football and netball in two of the three years of his tenure.

Seniors and Reserves footy both get wins!

The seniors completed an afternoon of running and attacking football by running out 85 point winners over Talbot , while the reserves dug out a fighting win also, coming home strongly to record a 31 point victory, led by Josh Malcolm with five goals.


Chilli con carne this Thursday!

Post training tea this week is Chilli con carne with rice, corn chips and salad. The bar will be open and the fire going, and footy and netball teams announced so see you there!


Safe number plate day this Saturday!

This Saturday patrons with cars can have their number plates re fitted with one way screws to make them safe from illegal removal. This is brought to you by the SES and Victoria Police through Jim Lee. This service will cost a gold coin donation. Volunteers will be on hand at the gate to offer this service. This Saturday at Deledio Reserve at the home game against Maryborough Rovers.


AFL Victoria Racial Vilification Policy

With some intolerable incidents of a racial nature taking place across all levels of football in 2011, it is a timely reminder that racial and religious vilification is illegal and players, supporters and clubs can be held liable if it is found that a club person in any capacity engages in such conduct. Sport is for everyone and this sort of abuse belongs in the dark ages.

Wayne 'Woosa' Lanfranchi will make his 400th senior appearance in a Dunolly guernsey this Saturday the 18th of June against Trentham. The club congratulates Wayne on this fantastic achievement! Cass Phillips RIP

The club was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Cass Phillips recently. Cass was the Mother of Harry Phillips who played all his junior football at Dunolly. The club wore black arm bands last weekend against Maldon to pay our respects to Harry and his Family. We pass on our condolences to Harry and his Family.


Fried Rice for tea this Thursday 12/5/11

Dunolly Netball had a successful day on Saturday while the football sides showed positive signs of things to come this year. A special mention to the U/15's footballers who put in a great effort against a strong Carisbrook side.

Like all community groups, we cannot function effectively without the support and assistance of our community, so please give some thought to filling one of these positions on an ongoing basis or even occasional basis. All volunteers receive a volunteer card which entitles you to a drink and a feed from the canteen and your support will be greatly appreciated.

Corporate Sports Unlimited have kindly donated 4 premium ticketing packages to the football at the MCG or Etihad and 4 premium corporate packages to either Flemington, Moonee Valley or Caulfield races. This will assist the club in our fundraising and we thank Corporate Sports Unlimited.

There is a social committee meeting this Thursday the 7th of April at 8.00pm. It will be held at Deledio Reserve and all players and supporters are welcome.

There has been some changes to the coaching panel over the summer with the club parting ways with Lauchlan Woodward. At 7.00pm on the 20/01/11 at the clubrooms a meeting will take place to announce the new coaching structure for football.


Player Sponsorship back for 2011!

After some good feedback the club has decided to re introduce the player sponsorship package where players can be sponsored by their employer or other to cover all or part of their membership and registration fees. The club has decided to widen this package to cover netballers also in 2011.

NORTH Melbourne premiership player Shannon Motlop will play with Dunolly in the Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football League this year.
